The President declared, “This country is the home of freedom. This is the land of liberty.” He further articulated this by stating, “we’re celebrating freedom’s triumph over tyranny. Liberty’s conquest over oppression, and the enduring victory of the American spirit.” A key message was the unwavering commitment to prevent socialist or communist ideologies from taking hold in the U.S., with Trump calling communism a “loser” and a “mortal threat to American liberty.”
These universal themes, stretching from America’s founding to its 250th anniversary, are poised to be significant campaign issues in the upcoming midterm elections. The Democratic party, by embracing what Kudlow terms “antisemitic socialism and communism” championed by figures like Zohran Mamdani and AOC, has positioned itself in a challenging spot for the November elections.
Kudlow argues that the Democratic party leadership has capitulated to ideologies that are antithetical to freedom and free enterprise. He points to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the ongoing struggles in Cuba as evidence of communism’s failure. To illustrate the economic disparity, Kudlow cites statistics showing per-person GDP in America exceeding $90,000, while in China, it is less than $14,000.
He further notes that the U.S. economy has demonstrated remarkable resilience and growth, with real GDP projected to reach an all-time high this year, even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. With soaring stock markets, record profits, booming business, and a staggering $170 trillion in household net worth, Kudlow concludes that free enterprise remains the most effective engine for prosperity and raising living standards, affirming that “America keeps on winning.”
