Recalled Kidisle coffee makers piled in a dimly lit warehouse
Kidisle has issued a recall for approximately 17,600 of its branded hot and iced coffee machines, citing a significant burn hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall, highlighting reports of the coffeemakers becoming clogged, leading to the unexpected release of hot liquid or steam during use.
The defect poses a risk of serious injury from burns. According to the commission, at least 107 reports have been filed concerning this issue. These incidents have resulted in at least 27 reported injuries, including first and second-degree burns that necessitated medical treatment.
The affected coffee makers are described as measuring about 11 inches high and 6 inches wide, with a 50-ounce detachable water tank. They are available in black, white, and gray, and are capable of brewing between six and 14 ounces of coffee.
These machines were sold online through platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, and eBay between June 2024 and April of this year, with a retail price of approximately $49. Consumers can identify the recalled models by checking for “KC101B” printed on a sticker on the underside of the unit. The brand name is also listed on the product order receipt.
Consumers who own the affected coffee makers are strongly advised to cease using the product immediately. Kidisle is offering a full refund to all affected customers. For further assistance or to initiate the refund process, consumers should contact Kidisle directly.
