Wendy’s is set to delight fans with its new “Minions & Monsters” meal, a limited-time promotion launching on June 15. This collaboration with Illumination’s popular characters will offer themed meals for both children and adults, alongside exclusive collectible toys and a brand-new Banana Frosty Swirl.
The promotion aims to leverage the broad appeal of the Minions franchise, which aligns with Wendy’s strategy of creating shared experiences for its customers. Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. chief marketing officer for The Wendy’s Company, stated, “By bringing together one of the world’s most beloved entertainment franchises with Wendy’s iconic, high-quality food and customers love, we’re creating shared experiences that fans will go bananas for this summer!”
The adult meal option will include a choice of a Big Bacon Classic or a new Spicy Chicken Sandwich, a small order of fries, and a small Banana Frosty Swirl. This meal also comes with one of four exclusive Minions & Monsters blind box collectibles. The new Frosty and the adult meal will be available starting June 15.
For younger customers, the Minions & Monsters kids’ meal offers a choice of 2-piece chicken tenders, 4-piece chicken nuggets, a hamburger, or a cheeseburger. It includes a kid’s drink, a choice of fries or apple bites, and one of six exclusive Minions & Monsters kids’ meal toys featuring characters like James, Henry, Ed, Richard, Goomi, and Dort.
In addition to the food offerings, Wendy’s will also introduce two new Coca-Cola Freestyle beverages as part of the campaign: a Pineapple Minion MischieFizz and Goomi’s Glimey Lime. The movie “Minions: The Rise of Gru” is set to premiere on July 1, making the promotion a timely tie-in for fans.
