Engineers assembling large battery energy storage systems in a factory
JSW Energy’s step-down subsidiary, JSW Energy PSP Eleven (JEPEL), has secured orders worth Rs 443.74 crore from Bondada Renewable Energy. This substantial contract is for the supply of 200 MW / 400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Power Conversion System (PCS) solutions, marking a significant move in India’s burgeoning renewable energy sector.
This deal underscores JSW Energy’s strategic positioning within the energy storage market. JEPEL operates a robust battery assembly plant in Pune with an annual capacity of 5 GWh, a critical asset enabling the fulfillment of such large-scale orders. Bondada Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bondada Engineering, is the recipient of these advanced energy solutions, which are vital for grid stabilization and integrating intermittent renewable energy sources.
The contract comes as JSW Energy continues to demonstrate strong financial performance. For the quarter ended March 31, 2026 (Q4 FY26), the company, a prominent private sector power producer in India, reported a 38.36% increase in consolidated net profit, reaching Rs 573.53 crore. Revenue from operations also saw a significant jump of 41.04% year-on-year, climbing to Rs 4,498.58 crore. These results, coupled with the new contract, highlight JSW Energy’s aggressive expansion and profitability in a competitive market.
Currently, JSW Energy boasts a total locked-in generation capacity of 32.1 GW and an impressive 29.6 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity. This latest contract further solidifies its leadership in energy solutions, reinforcing its commitment to renewable energy infrastructure and contributing to India’s energy transition goals. The positive market reaction, with JSW Energy’s scrip rallying 3.77% on the BSE post-announcement, reflects investor confidence in the company’s strategic direction and growth trajectory.
