TNVitamins is initiating a nationwide recall of its organic moringa capsules and powder, sold through prominent online platforms including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and TikTok Shop. The recall stems from a potential salmonella contamination identified by a supplier of the raw organic moringa ingredient.
New York-based Total Nutrition Inc., the parent company of TNVitamins, voluntarily issued the recall after its supplier flagged the contamination risk. The company has stated that no illnesses have been reported in connection with these products.
The specific products affected by the recall are: TNVitamins 100% Organic Moringa 1,200 mg Capsules (Product No. AB9917, Lot 2800, expiration date February 2028) and TNVitamins 100% Organic Moringa Powder (Product No. AB9904, Lot 2782, expiration date May 2028). These items were distributed across the United States via the company’s website and the aforementioned major online retailers.
Salmonella infection can lead to severe health issues, particularly for young children, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems. Symptoms typically include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, the infection can enter the bloodstream and cause more serious complications.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled TNVitamins products are advised to stop consumption immediately and dispose of them. Products with lot numbers not matching those specified in the recall notice are not affected.
