Bank of America is significantly expanding its signature “Museums on Us” program, granting eligible cardholders complimentary general admission to 250 cultural institutions across 43 states this July 4th weekend. This special offer, valid on July 4 and July 5, aligns with the nation’s 250th anniversary, encouraging engagement with American history and heritage.
Credit and debit cardholders from Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank can access these institutions simply by presenting an eligible card alongside a government-issued identification. This initiative broadens the program’s scope beyond its usual first-full-weekend schedule for July, providing an enhanced opportunity for cultural exploration.
Meghan Hughes, Head of Arts and Heritage at Bank of America, emphasized the opportunity to celebrate the individuals, locations, and organizations that have shaped the nation. She stated that the bank encourages cardholders to utilize “Museums on Us” during their July 4th travels to experience additional programs celebrating American history.
Beyond free museum access, Bank of America is actively supporting the America 250 commemoration through various grants. A notable contribution includes funding for the National Archives in Washington, D.C., enabling extended operating hours until 10 p.m. through July 5. This extension aims to provide more visitors with the chance to view the Declaration of Independence.
The financial institution is also backing specific America 250 events in key markets. In Boston, Bank of America supports free access to the MA250 + Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, a historically significant Fourth of July celebration. Similarly, in Detroit, the bank is assisting The Henry Ford’s Salute to America and the Michigan Science Center’s related programs.
