NG Energy International Corp. (NGE) is making strides in Colombia’s energy sector with its latest drilling results. The company announced that the Aruchara-5 well, located in the Maria Conchita Block, has successfully reached a total depth of 9,097 feet. According to the Investing News Network, this well hit all six target zones (H1-H6), showing positive gas indications across the board.
The Aruchara-5 well is now connected to the central processing facility, with initial production from the H1 target at 11.0 MMcf/d gross (8.8 MMcf/d net). This has propelled the total field production at Maria Conchita to 18 MMcf/d gross (14.4 MMcf/d net). When combined with the average gross daily production of 22.5 MMcf/d from Sinú-9 since the Hechicero-1X well came online, the company’s total net production stands at approximately 23.2 MMcf/d.
NGE has plans to optimize and further increase production at the Maria Conchita Block for the rest of 2026. This includes interventions at Aruchara-3, a workover at Aruchara-1, and drilling the Aruchara-6 development well in Q3 2026. The Maria Conchita Block is supported by infrastructure capable of processing and transporting up to 30 MMcf/d gross, providing ample capacity for future production growth.
Brian Paes-Braga, Executive Chairman of NGE, emphasized that Aruchara-5 has confirmed productive gas across all six zones and is already contributing commercially. NGE’s existing offtake agreements cover up to 15 MMcf/d gross at Maria Conchita and up to 25 MMcf/d gross at Sinú-9, with any additional volumes sold into the Colombian spot market at premium prices.
