Conference on EU-Ukraine transport and energy integration, Gdansk, Poland
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is set to host a pivotal conference on “EU-Ukraine Transport and Energy Integration: from Connectivity to Resilience” on June 26, 2026, in Gdansk, Poland. This high-level event aims to unite European and Ukrainian stakeholders in a dialogue focused on the future integration of the transport and energy sectors.
The conference will explore how enhanced connectivity, resilient infrastructure, and regulatory convergence can bolster Ukraine’s ongoing EU integration process. Discussions will also address how these factors contribute to the EU’s strategic autonomy and security, particularly in the context of Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction efforts.
Participants will engage in two key roundtables. The first, titled “From Solidarity Lanes to TEN-T Corridors: Advancing EU–Ukraine Road and Rail Connectivity,” will concentrate on integrating Ukraine’s transport markets with the EU. Key topics include addressing infrastructure gaps, regulatory alignment, interoperability, and the promotion of sustainable mobility solutions.
The second roundtable, “Strengthening EU–Ukraine Energy Security: Opportunities and Challenges,” will delve into strategies for reinforcing energy security. The focus will be on resilient infrastructure, integrated energy markets, enhanced regional cooperation, and strategic investments designed to ensure a stable and secure energy future.
The conference is expected to foster practical steps towards a more connected, resilient, and integrated European future, providing a platform for policymakers, public authorities, social partners, industry representatives, and civil society to collaborate on these critical issues. The event underscores the importance of EU-Ukraine cooperation in achieving both regional stability and strategic objectives.
