Kyrgyzstan has launched the Tamchy special financial investment territory (SFIT), aiming to become a pivotal hub connecting Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Europe. This initiative presents Vietnamese businesses with a strategic platform for regional expansion, bolstered by international legal standards, substantial tax incentives, and advanced digital infrastructure.
The Tamchy SFIT operates under a legal framework based on English common law, featuring an independent court, an International Dispute Resolution Centre, and a dedicated financial regulator. Companies established within the SFIT will enjoy a zero tax rate on profits, dividends, capital gains, and VAT for 49 years. Additionally, it permits 100% foreign ownership and offers a digital one-stop-shop for company registration and management.
This development is particularly significant for Vietnam, given Central Asia’s role as a key transit corridor to Europe. Tamchy SFIT is designed to meet the logistical and financial needs of Vietnamese exporters, with its location near major transport routes ensuring multimodal connectivity and support for fintech, cross-border settlements, and digital assets.
The SFIT’s establishment also aligns with Vietnam’s ambitions to develop its own international financial center. International interest is already evident, with companies from the UAE, Hong Kong, Switzerland, South Korea, and Kazakhstan joining as early residents. The jurisdiction adheres to FATF standards and permits virtual asset operations.
Spanning approximately 6,000 hectares on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul and including the Issyk-Kul International Airport, the Tamchy SFIT integrates business and residential infrastructure. Kyrgyzstan’s robust economic growth, with GDP increasing by over 11% in 2025, further enhances its investment appeal. Tamchy SFIT projects attracting around 4,000 resident companies by 2035, offering Vietnamese businesses a prime opportunity to establish an early presence and leverage it for expansion into the broader Eurasian market.
