Horrific Crime in Na’ameh: Girl Raped, Murdered; Suspect Arrested
The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces announced the uncovering of a horrific crime in the town of Na’ameh, Lebanon. The investigation, conducted by the Damour police station, revealed the details of the rape and murder of a 10-year-old Syrian girl, identified as H.M. (born 2015). The perpetrator, H.H. (born 1997, Syrian), was apprehended in connection with the heinous act.
The Crime Unfolds
According to the investigation, H.H., the brother of the family’s neighbor, took the victim and her five-year-old brother, A.M. (born 2020), to the beach. There, on a sandy hill north of the Damour shore, he assaulted the girl. He then murdered her by striking her head with a large stone, concealing her body among the reeds under a pile of rocks. He also attacked the young boy before throwing him into the sea, presuming him dead. However, the boy survived.
Discovery and Investigation
The details emerged after a phone call was received by the Damour police station at 23:25 on October 31, 2025. A resident of Na’ameh reported finding a child with scratches and a head wound, whose clothes were wet. A patrol immediately went to the scene, where they found the child. His father, M.M. (born 1979, Syrian), and the suspect, H.H., were also present.
Upon seeing H.H., the child identified him as the person who had taken him and his sister to the beach. The child stated that H.H. had taken his sister, who was screaming, and instructed him to stay by the bicycle. The suspect then returned alone and threw the boy into the sea after hitting him on the face. On November 1, 2025, the child’s statement was taken in the presence of a child protection representative, where he repeated his account and again accused H.H.
Body Found and Suspect’s Confession
Around 17:00 on the same day, a patrol found the girl’s body during a search of the sea and the shore. The body was examined by the forensic doctor and the Baabda Accidents Office and was placed in a morgue in a local hospital. During interrogation, H.H. confessed to the crime, admitting that he took the children to the Damour beach, assaulted and murdered the girl, and attempted to eliminate the brother. Following the investigation, H.H. was arrested and referred to the judicial police detachment in the Judicial Police Unit for further investigation, as per the directive of the competent judiciary.
