Vattenfall InCharge has significantly expanded its presence in the Swedish electric vehicle charging market by acquiring Nima Energy’s fast-charging business. The deal adds 178 operational ultra-fast charging points and brings 254 planned charging points into Vattenfall’s portfolio, strengthening its network, particularly in major urban centers like Stockholm and Malmö.
This strategic acquisition aligns with Vattenfall’s ambition to establish a leading charging business across Europe under the InCharge brand, which currently manages over 48,500 charging points. Henrik Nordström, Director of Vattenfall E-Mobility Sweden, stated that the expansion will provide EV drivers with greater access to fast and reliable charging solutions.
Nima Energy’s network, with charging capacities up to 300–400 kW across 16 existing and 36 planned locations, will be integrated with Vattenfall’s scale and expertise. Fabian Hagmann, Vice President BU E-Mobility at Vattenfall, emphasized that this synergy will accelerate expansion and enhance the customer charging experience in Sweden.
Marcus Landelin, CEO and Co-founder of Nima Energy, expressed confidence in Vattenfall as the ideal long-term owner to realize the full potential of their business. The integration process is set to begin following the transaction’s closing, though financial terms were not disclosed.
