Recalled chocolate with hidden drugs causing blood pressure risks.
California-based Gear Isle is voluntarily recalling its “Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate” and “ilum Sex Chocolate” after the FDA found undeclared sildenafil and tadalafil, ingredients in erectile dysfunction medications.
These chocolates, sold online as dietary supplements, pose a significant risk. The FDA warns that the hidden drugs can cause a sudden, life-threatening drop in blood pressure, especially dangerous for individuals taking nitrate medications for heart conditions.
The recall follows a similar action earlier this month, where New Mexico-based Primal Supplements Group LLC recalled its Primal Herbs “Volume” sexual enhancement product due to undeclared sildenafil.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled Gear Isle products immediately and return them for a refund. Anyone experiencing symptoms should contact a healthcare provider, according to the FDA.
