Hezbollah’s ‘Loyalty to the Resistance’ Condemns Attacks, Criticizes Political Tactics
In a recent statement, the parliamentary bloc of “Loyalty to the Resistance” strongly condemned the escalating acts of aggression by the Israeli enemy against Lebanese citizens. The attacks, which have targeted the Lebanese army and recently extended to the town of Blida, including an attack on the municipality building, have drawn condemnation from the bloc. They also expressed their disapproval of the international silence surrounding these aggressions and the government’s perceived inaction in addressing them.
Elections and Political Integrity
The bloc emphasized the necessity of holding parliamentary elections on schedule, adhering to the existing electoral law. This, they believe, is crucial for revitalizing political life, ensuring legitimacy, and upholding the proper functioning of institutions according to constitutional procedures. “Loyalty to the Resistance” views attempts by certain political factions to obstruct this process as reflecting a narrow, factional mindset that seeks to control all aspects of the country, influenced by external agendas.
Furthermore, the bloc sharply criticized the Lebanese Forces party’s campaign against the Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri. They view the use of the diaspora elections as a pretext for this campaign as a violation of the principles and ethics of political and parliamentary work. The bloc affirmed its complete solidarity with Berri’s stance, which they believe is vital for preserving the higher national interest, upholding the constitution, and guaranteeing equality and justice for all.
Support for the President and Reconstruction Efforts
The bloc welcomed President Michel Aoun’s position regarding the obstruction of parliamentary sessions and urged all officials to act with the utmost responsibility and national spirit. They stressed the importance of holding elections on time and preventing any infringement upon the right to fair representation and the principle of equality, as guaranteed by the constitution for all Lebanese citizens.
Additionally, while acknowledging the administrative measures taken by the government regarding the study of compensation programs for damages caused to Lebanese citizens and their property due to the Israeli aggression, the bloc underscored the need to expedite the implementation of reconstruction efforts.
