Massive Fire Erupts in Lebanon’s Akkar Forests, Efforts Underway
A significant fire has broken out in the forests of ‘Ain, within the valleys of the town of ‘Andaqat in Akkar, northern Lebanon, as reported this evening. The blaze, which consumed the dense trees and dry vegetation, is currently being fought by local authorities.
Details of the Incident
According to reports, the fire started this evening. The dry northeastern winds and high temperatures contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown.
Emergency Response
Teams from the Civil Defense, alongside the Rapid Intervention Team from the Tadbir Association and with the cooperation of the local residents, are working to contain the flames and limit their spread. The Civil Defense teams from three centers are actively involved in the firefighting operations.
Efforts to Control the Blaze
The primary objective of the firefighting teams is to contain the “النيران” (fire) and prevent it from spreading further. The “الدفاع المدني” (Civil Defense) is working alongside the “فريق التدخل السريع” (Rapid Intervention Team) from the “جمعية تدبير” (Tadbir Association), supported by the local community, “أهالي البلدة” (the townspeople), to achieve this goal.
Ongoing Operations
As the “النيران” (fire) continues to rage, efforts are focused on bringing the situation under control. The “الغطاء النباتي اليابس” (dry vegetation) and the “أحراج” (forests) are particularly vulnerable, making the firefighting efforts all the more challenging. The teams are working to extinguish the “ألسنة اللهب” (flames) and eventually put out the fire completely.
