Lebanese University Denies Forged Certificate Claims, Citing Defamation
In a statement released on Friday, the Lebanese University addressed recent allegations concerning forged certificates, as reported by various media outlets and social media platforms. The claims, stemming from a report presented by a television channel, prompted a strong denial from the university’s media office.
University’s Response: A Firm Denial
The Lebanese University categorically refuted all claims of issuing forged certificates. The statement clarified that the university’s certificates are not subject to the equivalency process within the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, contrary to what was stated in the media report. After a thorough review of all university records, no evidence was found to support the claims of the individual who allegedly obtained a certificate from the university.
Electronic System Integrity
The university emphasized that its electronic system is secure and has not been breached, relying on precise monitoring mechanisms to immediately detect any unauthorized access. The statement also highlighted that the report itself indicated the forged certificates originated from a private university and were equalized with the assistance of an employee at the Ministry of Education. The university questioned why the case was distorted and false accusations were directed towards the national university.
Protecting Reputation and Seeking Justice
The Lebanese University reiterated its commitment to preserving its reputation and the credibility of its locally and internationally recognized certificates. The university called on all parties to refrain from involving it in narrow personal accounts. It urged those concerned to exercise accuracy and responsibility when addressing any issue affecting the national university. The university welcomed referring the matter to the competent judiciary to uncover the complete facts and urged the judiciary to take action against defamation campaigns and the falsification of facts that target the Lebanese University.
The university aims to undermine the reputation of over 400,000 graduates who hold prominent positions in Lebanon and abroad. The Lebanese University reaffirmed its status as a unifying national symbol, with its certificates remaining a trusted scientific reference that future generations will be proud of, far from any personal agenda.
