Hepworth steps into the role previously held by Claire Mack, who led Scottish Renewables since 2017 and is now transitioning to SSEN Transmission. Her extensive background includes serving as corporate affairs director and commercial director at Drax, where she championed low-carbon initiatives. Prior to that, she was policy and regulation director at EDF UK, contributing significantly to projects like the Sizewell C nuclear power station. Her career foundation was built at the UK’s Department for Trade and Industry, focusing on critical areas like energy supply security and electricity market development.
