SIRA Launches ‘Emirates of Safety’: Blending Modern Tech with Reality in Dubai
The Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) has announced the launch of the sixth season of the ‘Emirates of Safety’ event. Under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, the event will take place from November 3rd to 6th at the Dubai Mall – Zabeel.
This year’s event promises a unique community experience, aiming to instill a culture of safety and social responsibility. For the first time, three new community categories have been introduced to broaden participation. These include: Community Protectors (government and private security agencies), Community Leaders (government and private entities), and Community Spirit (women and the general public). The Juniors category (ages 16-20) will also participate, emphasizing the importance of youth and women in raising awareness and promoting safety.
Event Details and New Features
To facilitate participation, the team size has been adjusted to four members (from the previous seven), with three winning teams to be recognized in each category to celebrate the diversity of performance. The event will feature 11 group challenges and two individual challenges. These challenges will blend modern technologies with realistic scenarios to integrate physical and mental intelligence. The goal is to enhance the role of individuals as active contributors to community security.
Partnerships and Community Engagement
Organized and officially sponsored by SIRA, in partnership with Dubai Mall – Emaar, the event shares a common goal: to transform the culture of security into a daily lifestyle. Alongside the main event, an art exhibition titled ‘Our Community is Our Pride’ will feature a mosaic art piece of the country’s leaders composed of the participating teams’ images. Additionally, a photography exhibition by Emirati artist Maitha Abdullah Al Remeithi, titled ‘Faces of the Community,’ will be showcased.
The ‘Emirates of Safety’ event, as highlighted by SIRA, underscores the commitment to leveraging innovation and community engagement to foster a safer environment for everyone. By including diverse categories and challenging participants with real-world scenarios, the event aims to make security a shared responsibility.
