The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has given its approval for the amalgamation of 51 companies from the Malabar Group into its primary entity, Malabar Gold and Diamonds Limited. This significant consolidation, announced by the CCI on July 7, 2026, is set to streamline operations within the prominent jewellery business.
The merged entities are primarily engaged in the diverse activities of the jewellery sector. Malabar Gold and Diamonds Limited’s operations encompass the manufacturing, sale, distribution, import, and export of a wide array of products, including gold, diamonds, silver, platinum, and other precious stones and jewellery items.
While the CCI has issued its clearance, a more detailed order outlining the specifics of the approval is expected to be released by the Commission in the near future.
