Shares of Adani Energy Solutions experienced a significant surge, climbing 4% to reach an over three-year high of ₹1,710 on the BSE. This impressive gain occurred despite a generally weak broader market, highlighting the company’s strong performance and investor confidence. The stock has seen a remarkable 113% increase from its low of ₹804.70 in January 2026, significantly outperforming the BSE Sensex, which has declined by 7.7% in recent months.
The primary driver behind this surge is a robust business outlook, fueled by India’s ongoing energy transition, a stable regulatory environment, and consistently rising electricity demand. Adani Energy Solutions is strategically positioned to benefit from accelerated capital expenditure across the power sector. The company boasts a strong bid pipeline and clear long-term demand visibility, particularly in the transmission and smart metering segments.
Further bolstering this positive trend is the robust power demand observed in Q1FY27, which saw a 9% year-on-year increase in generation and record peak demand. Adani Energy Solutions maintains a substantial under-construction project pipeline valued at ₹71,780 crore and is actively deploying 24.6 million smart meters across five states.
Financially, the company strengthened its position with a ₹8,373 crore qualified institutional placement (QIP) in August 2024, funds earmarked for its ongoing projects. Analysts at Elara Capital project a 9.1% year-on-year revenue increase and a 27.7% year-on-year growth in profit after tax for Adani Energy Solutions. This growth is expected to be driven by the commissioning of new transmission lines and continued smart meter rollouts.
The smart metering business, in particular, presents a significant growth opportunity, with an existing order book of 24.6 million meters and a potential revenue stream of ₹29,519 crore. This segment solidifies Adani Energy Solutions’ crucial role in India’s transformation towards smart metering infrastructure.
