Fun Spot America Atlanta, a popular amusement park located in Fayetteville, will permanently close its gates on August 2, 2024. The closure signifies the end of operations for the Atlanta-area location, which is well-known for featuring the ArieForce One, recognized as the largest zero-G stall roller coaster in the United States.
Guests will have until the final day of operation to experience the park’s attractions. Season passes and gift cards valid for the Atlanta location will also remain honored until August 2.
While the Atlanta park is shutting down, Fun Spot America’s other locations in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida, will continue to operate as usual. These Florida parks will also honor any remaining season passes and gift cards from the Atlanta location.
The ArieForce One roller coaster, a key attraction at the park, boasts a 146-foot drop at an 83-degree angle and reaches speeds of up to 64 mph. It offers a unique zero-G stall experience, a feature that has drawn enthusiasts to the park.
John Arie, Jr., CEO of Fun Spot America, stated that the decision to close the Atlanta park was exceptionally difficult. He expressed gratitude to the park’s team members for their dedication and to the Fayetteville community for their support over the years. The company has indicated plans to support its employees through the transition period with available resources.
The Atlanta-area location was formerly known as Fun Junction USA before being acquired by Fun Spot America in 2017. The company originally opened its first theme park in Orlando in 1979.
